A veterinarian from Edmond, Oklahoma has been practicing for 22 years at Gentle Care Animal Hospital.
For him, however, removing 21 pacifiers from a Shar-Pei dog’s stomach would be the craziest surgery he ever had on his entire career.
A 4-year-old Shar-Pei named Dovey has been undergone surgery after being brought to his long-time vet. According to his owner, the dog lost his weight for a short amount of time and noticed that Dovey stole one pacifier from a countertop.
After conducting an x-ray, the result revealed that the missing pacifiers were in Dovey’s stomach.
Scott Rogers, owner of Dovey said, ” We have a 6-month-old baby and, you know, we have binkies in the house because of the baby and over the past five months, we’ve been missing many binkies.”
Seeing the x-ray result, the vet thought that there could only be seven to nine pacifiers in Dovey’s stomach. But after performing the surgery, they found 21 pacifiers in the dog’s stomach. After such an incident, the Dr. Ripoli reminds all pet owners to never leave anything on the counter for a dog get into.
Dovey has now already recovered from the surgery and the house is now baby-pacifier proofed.
