Brand Steps In When Model Gets Bullied With Her Active Wear Photos

We all know that plus sized women find it quite hard to feel comfortable in the world of fitness. One brand, however, decided to break the status quo and hired a plus sized blogger and model to change that perception of the masses.

Academy Sports and Outdoors recently launched their ‘BCG’ line, which features sizes up to 3X for women. They hired Anna O’Brien, a plus-size fashion model on Instagram to represent the brand.  O’Brien says it’s never been easy for her, especially on the shortage of great yet affordable work-out clothes that are fit for her size.

“This single challenge is one of the greatest barriers to plus-size women becoming active,” Academy writes on their Facebook page.

Ever since the campaign began, O’Brien gained 13,000 likes on social media on her photo shoot. However, the response of the public is generally lukewarm.

One couldn’t help but notice bashers and internet trolls all over the place.

The New-York fashion model has been cool handling these particular nasty comments, but it was Academy’s admirable comment that stands out.

The company’s message gives out an incredibly uplifting note for people of all bodies, shapes, and sizes who wanted to start an exercise regime towards their personal journey to be fit.
