Bridget Stevens, a busy mom of two, recently came in to her home in Pennsylvania and it was freezing because her furnace was broken. Normally, her husband and her would work together to fix the furnace, but her husband is currently on deployment.
So, she called Betlyn Heating and Cooling in Coraopolis. After trying a few things over the phone and unable to solve the problem, the owner, Paul, agreed to drive to her home to help her turn the heat back on. As they were casually chatting, Paul found out that her husband was in the military and on deployment.
When the time came to pay, Bridget got a pleasant surprise… Paul handed her the bill and wrote in “Deployment Discount” with a final price of $1.
“When I tried to give him any money at all, he said that the $1 was a joke, and to thank my husband for his service.” Bridget said.
