Looking For Wedding Date On Twitter Years Ago, This Woman Never Expected It Would End Up Like This

The date was July 2015. Madison O’Neill found herself dateless as she recently broke up with her ex. She had RSVP’d to a wedding with a plus one. She had no idea, however- that fate works in the weirdest ways.

So, she decided to find a last minute date…on Twitter.

“It was mostly a joke, I thought a friend would respond and I’d just have someone to hang out with.” She recalled in an interview with TIME.

She had no idea that this unexpected circumstance would bring her to the love of her life.

Charlie Dohrmann, a guy she knew from high school and one of her followers, saw this and tweeted, “Dude, I’ll be your date to a wedding!”

Madison at first, didn’t want to go out with Charlie. They went to the same high school in Iowa and she initially thought of him as super annoying,”

Despite her qualms, she eventually agreed.

“I figured that having one awkward date wouldn’t be the end of the world”

Little did she know, Charlie always had a bit of a crush on her, but had never had the guts to ask her out. He saw her tweet and decided to go for it.

But the two did not have an awkward time together, in fact, they had an amazing night.

They became inseparable after that and soon became ‘official’.

After two and a half years of dating, he decided to pop the question!

Sweet!
